Begay, Harry H.
Harry H. Begay is one of the few Navajo silversmiths of today who practices smithing in the true old style; he melts his Sterling in a crucible and pours it out for repeated hammering and annealing of the metal. This creates a tight-grained product which has a wholly different aspect from pre-fabbed Sterling products used to make most Indian jewelry. He has been smithing silver in this fashion for over 35 years. His hallmark consists of his three intitials "HHB" over a left-pointing arrow (as shown).
