Cecil Atencio Kingman "Birdseye" Turquoise Pendant & Earring Set

This pendant by Navajo silversmith Cecil Atencio is set with a Zuni cut stone of natural, untreated Kingman "Birdseye"  turquoise.  Zuni cut stones are sculpted with a grinder to liberate the turquoise deposit from the surrounding host rock. This leaves a wavy, undulating surface to the stone, which follows the actual shape of the turquoise deposit. This is an excellent example of a Zuni cut and this is rare stone which shows such distinctive "birdseye" patterning and attains such a rich blue coloration. The pendant is coupled with a pair of post earrings set with stones which match the pendant and both pendant and earrings have saw and file borderwork. We suggest stringing this pendant on a strand of high-polish handmade Navajo Sterling beads (see below).

Hallmarked C ATENCIO and stamped STERLING on the back of the pendant and on the back of each earring.
