Cecil Atencio Royston Turquoise Bracelet size 7"

Atencio, Cecil

Born in 1956, Navajo silversmith Cecil Atencio has been smithing silver since his early twenties. He was born near Chaco Canyon at Kimbeto, New Mexico, which is little more than a curve in the gravel road situated in a place with blinding dust storms. He currently resides in Tohajiilee, New Mexico with his wife, children and grandchildren.

This bracelet is set with a thick free-form stone of natural, untreated Royston turquoise from Nevada. This is glassy smooth, tight-grained stone with green clouds watermarking the pale stone. Cecil's saw and file work forms the decorative border around this stone which is set in a smooth bezel wrapped with twist wire. The cuff is formed from three lengths of low dome Sterling wire with high-polish appliquées flanking the stone to left and right. This is fine natural turquoise from Nevada.

Hallmarked C. ATENCIO and stamped STERLING inside the bracelet.
