Stanley Parker Royston Turquoise Necklace
Stanley Parker makes traditional jewelry using fine natural turquoise in his creations. Because he buys his turquoise from the same source over time, each new batch of pieces we buy from him presents potential color matches for pieces of Stanley's which we've sold in the past. Many of our customers who have bought Stanley's work over the last several years have managed to put together nicely matched stone sets over time.
This is a necklace with two hammered Sterling "shields" with sculpted edges decorated with highlighting stampwork along their edges and repoussée forms. Two teardrop-shaped stones of natural Royston turquoise serve as pendants suspended from the shields. The bottom pendant hangs as a free-swinging pendant.
A handmade chain unifies this piece. It is made with flat links of Sterling sheet. A handmade clasp fastens the chain at top. The necklace portion is roughly nineteen inches long with the pendants adding additional hang to this length. Therefore, this has the look and feel of a shorter necklace with the pendants on the sternum or in the cleavage (depending on one's torso length).
Stanley's hallmark consists of an arrowhead and the words "SParker" (in script), "NAVAJO" and "Sterling" stamped to the right of the arrowhead.
