Morgan, Harry

Navajo smith Harry Morgan, perhaps more than any other silversmith, has been responsible for popularizing classic revival jewelry. Through his careful oxidation process, he causes his classic designs to actually look like old pieces from a bygone era. At one time he operated a smithing studio which employed many of the smiths who now carry on the classic revival style (notably Kirk Smith, but many others as well). His brother Henry Morgan mostly makes sandcast jewelry which he oxidizes in order to lend an old-style "dead pawn" look. Harry's sister, Linda Marble, worked in the sandcast technique until her death in 2004. Harry Morgan is married to Navajo smith Betty Joe and his stepson is Navajo smith Greg Pat. Harry's hallmark is as shown here.
